Adam Golomb- Director/Writer/Producer of Under The City

A casual conversation with an aging Lake Shore Drive Doorman led Chicago attorney-turned screenwriter Adam Golomb on a two-year search for the true events that would become Under The City.  In addition to feature screenwriting and directing, Adam is co-creator and supervising producer of a new pilot at VH1 Television in Los Angeles where he has been a writer and producer since May 2005. 

 

Dean Rabaiov- Nate Mayott and Producer of Under The City 

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Dean made his way to Los Angeles after completing Law School and a two-year stint as marketing and programming director with Village Roadshow. A trained actor in Australia, Under the City is his first film appearance. Dean has also completed several feature scripts and treatments.

Richard Portnow – Detective Harold Minks

Possessing one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, Richard Portnow is a veteran of Broadway, television, and over 60 feature films, most notably Barton Fink, Radio Days, Tin Men, Howard Stern’s Private Parts, Good Morning Vietnam, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Seven and For the Boys. Richard has also been recurring on The Soprano’s since its inception as Uncle Junior’s attorney, Hal “Mel” Melvoin.

A frequent TV guest star, Richard has appeared on Seinfeld, Judging Amy, Mad About You, Spin City, The Shield, and NYPD Blue, as well as numerous movies of the week and mini series including Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor, and the title role in The Life and Times of Robert L. Ripley.

On stage, Richard has starred on Broadway in The House of Blue Leaves, A month of Sundays, and recently in Writer’s Block for Woody Allen in New York, and Oscar and Felix for Neil Simon in Los Angeles.

Look for Richard in theaters now in Sidney Lumet’s, Find Me Guilty, and soon co-starring opposite Halle Berry in Perfect Stranger directed by James Foley.


  John Heard- Scova

After 30 years and over 100 film, television and theatrical
performances, John Heard's body of work and range speaks for itself. Everyone remembers "Home Alone" and "The Pelican Brief", but for vintage John Heard, check out his riveting performance in the title role of the 1981 classic "Cutter's Way"! Also look for John in the upcoming Kevin Costner thriller, "The Guardian" by The Fugitive director Andrew Davis, and well as his
recurring stint as the Governor of Illinois on "Prison Break".

  Mike Starr- Dandos

Mike Starr can currently be found performing on Broadway in the hit revival of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple with Nathan Lane and Mathew Broderick. A Well-known veteran of over 50 feature films. Mike will next be seen in the Universal feature The Black Dahlia, directed by Brian DePalma, starring Hilary Swank, Scarlett Johansson, and Josh Harnett. He was recently seen opposite John Cusak and Billy Bob Thornton in The Ice Harvest. He has performed twice with Robert De Niro in Goodfellas (dir. Martin Scorcese), and in Mad Dog and Glory with Bill Murray and Uma Thurman. Always and impact player Mike had memorable roles in films opposite Johnny Depp in Ed Wood (dir. Tim Burton) and with Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber (dir. Peter Farrelly). Sidney Lumet directed Mike in the remake of John Cassevetes’ Gloria with Sharon Stone while Brian DePalma helmed Snake Eyes in which Mike works with Nicholas Cage. Other major films include The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner, Billy Bathgate with Dustin Hoffman, Lean On Me with Morgan Freeman, The Natural, Uncle Buck, Two if by Sea (dir: Bill Bennett) with Dennis Leary, and Millers Crossing directed by the Coen brothers. Recent releases include Summer of Sam (dir. Spike Lee) and a starring role in the independent film The Deli currently airing on Showtime. Other releases: The Next Big Thing, Monkeybone with Brendan Fraser, Thr3 A.M. with Danny Glover, Jersey Girl with Ben Affleck directed by Kevin Smith. Mike continues to work with the top artists in American Film.

On television Mike recurred as the “Bookstore God” on the CBS hit Joan of Arcadia. His numerous television appearances include a series regular role on NBC’s ED, as well as a memorable turn as Sen. Anthony Merino on The West Wing (NBC). Mike starred twice last year opposite Gene Wilder in Murder in a Small Town and The Lady in Question for A&E. He appeared last summer in an arc on Falcone (CBS) and he was a series regular on the highly acclaimed E Z Streets (CBS). His other television appearances include the pilots Jersey (NBC), The Doyles (ABC), and the series Hardball. His MOWs include The Last Don and he is a veteran of many comic and dramatic episodes including Third Rock from the Sun, Karen Sisco, The Handler, Scrubs, and Frasier.

Mike made his Broadway debut in The Guys in the Truck with Elliot Gould. He is a graduate of Hofstra University and currently lives in Chicago with his wife, pediatric heart surgeon Joanne Starr. He is proud of his three children – Cassie, John, and Nicole.


  Maya Parish- Denise

Fluent in Italian and a trained ballet dancer, New York native Maya Parish spent the past few years in Los Angeles acting in various independent shorts, feature films, and several national commercials. She is a member of the Elephant Theatre Company in Hollywood and is currently performing in a world premiere show of original monologues at the Hudson Theatre. Her recent TV credits include CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, NBC’s American Dreams, and the new HBO pilot The Near Future.

 

Zanny Laird- Lola Mayott

Dancer, musician, and a seasoned professional actor, Zanny has appeared
on stage before thousands of people during a 4 year run in the world-reknowned American Girl stage show in Chicago. Most recently, she has performed in Beauty and The Beast, The Sound Of Music, Sophocle's Elektra, and the lead of Susan in Caesar and Me for the Twilight Zone radio series with Jason Alexander. Under The City is her first film.


  D.J. Howard- Frank

Stage veteran D.J. Howard has performed throughout the United States including, The Goodman Theatre, The Chicago Theatre Company and The
Madison Rep. Some of his television appearances have been on "ER", "The Charles Stuart Story" for CBS, Unsolved Mysteries, and the ABC pilot, "Gabriel's Fire", as well as numerous national commercials. His indelible voice has been heard as commercial voiceover in markets across the country for years.
